Consultation

Dr. Perrin will conduct a thorough exam to discuss your smile goals and map out a treatment plan.

Digital Imaging

Using advanced technology, we’ll provide a digital preview of how your new smile will look.

No-prep or minimal tooth prep.

A small amount of enamel is removed to make room for the veneers. the patient is sent home in temporaries that match the agreed-upon design.

The Aesthetic Check.

We make any and all edits to the temporary design based on your preferences after a week of wear.

Craftsmanship by the Master Ceramist.

The ceramist designs the final porcelain veneers to match your desired shade, preferences, etc.

Final Fitting

Once your veneers are ready, Dr. Perrin will carefully bond them to your teeth, ensuring a perfect fit and natural look.

A porcelain veneer smile makeover at our Irvine office starts at $15,000, and we usually recommend beginning with eight teeth. That covers the design and lab work, every appointment, the veneers themselves and a nightguard to protect them. Nitrous sedation, gum tissue work, whitening and Invisalign alignment before veneers are charged separately. The consultation is $250 and is credited toward your treatment if you go ahead. A 2D photo preview is free, and The Test Drive is an additional $650.
Cosmetic veneers are generally not covered by dental insurance. We accept most PPO plans and will file claims for any treatment that does qualify, and we recommend confirming your benefits with your insurer before you start. For the cosmetic portion we offer third-party financing through Cherry, with 0% APR options, no hard credit check and a 60-second application.
Comfort gets planned into the appointment rather than handled afterward. Our comfort menu includes nitrous oxide, anti-anxiety drops, blankets and pillows, warm towelettes, noise-cancelling headphones and a TV in every private suite, and you choose what you want before each visit. Nitrous sedation is available for veneer treatment and is billed separately from the veneer fee. Tell us about any sensitivity or difficult past visits at your consultation and we will plan around it.
Any veneer treatment that removes enamel is an irreversible commitment, because enamel does not grow back. Veneers are also not permanent for life. They can chip, loosen or wear, and your bite, hygiene and everyday habits all affect how long they hold up. Dr. Perrin explains exactly how much preparation your case needs before treatment begins. Not every cosmetic concern calls for a veneer either, and whitening, bonding or alignment is sometimes the more conservative place to start.
Often yes, though it depends on what is already there. Existing fillings, crowns and other restorations affect which treatment suits each tooth, so we assess their condition and tell you which teeth are good candidates and which need a different kind of restoration. A tooth with significant damage or a large existing restoration may be better served by a crown.
Keep brushing, clean between your teeth and stay on schedule with your regular visits. The natural tooth under a veneer can still decay, so your routine matters as much as it did before. Avoid using your teeth to open packaging, chew ice or bite hard objects that could damage a veneer or the tooth behind it. Wear the nightguard included with your treatment, and contact us if a veneer feels different, becomes loose or is damaged.
Porcelain resists staining well, which is one of the main reasons patients choose it over composite. Composite veneers need more polishing and maintenance to hold their color. Porcelain also does not lighten with whitening, so if you plan to whiten your natural teeth we do that first and then match your veneers to the shade you want to keep.
Yes. A veneer covers the front surface of the tooth, not the whole tooth, so the natural tooth underneath can still develop decay. Regular brushing, cleaning between your teeth and keeping up with cleanings and exams still protect it. Contact us if a veneer feels different or something changes around the edge.
